Position: Director of Connections Ministry

Basic Function
The Director of Connections Ministry primarily focuses on the strategic and logistical leadership of the Sunday morning teams to create an extraordinary worship environment. They oversee a timely, yet personal, follow-up process that allows first-time guests to become actively involved participants of Crossroads.
Specific Ministry Responsibilities:
- Encourages, coaches, challenges, and personally invests in Connection Ministry leaders to build into their lives and assist them in their vital roles.
- Recruits, trains, and manages leaders who carry out the leadership responsibilities of the various Connections Ministry teams (1. Parking, 2. Refreshments, 3. Host Team, 4. Engagement Team, 5. Connections Center, 7. Online Host Team, 8. Sunday Service Coordinators and 9. Recreation.)
- Drives continuous improvement by proactively implementing fresh ideas that encourage our guests and faith family to take next steps in their spiritual journey and enjoy a welcoming and organized Sunday morning worship experience.
- Oversees the recruitment of serving team members in Connections by working with leaders to coach them and assist them on recruitment needs.
- Leads guest and church wide events such as Crossroads 101 classes and Kick Off Sunday.
- Proposes and manages the Connections Ministry budget.
- Leads one-on-one meetings for Connect Card follow up.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports out on new guest engagement as needed.
- Arrange meetings of all Connections Ministry leaders at least one time per year for encouragement, vision casting, appreciation, and ministry detail updates.
- Oversees the Connections Ministry Coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Staff Pastor.
Personal Qualifications Required:
- Must maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and time spent contemplating God’s Word.
- Must live according to the qualifications for ministry leaders in 1 Timothy 3.
- Approachable and relatable for the church congregation.
Strengths, Giftedness, Experience, & Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Strong grasp of Scripture and Biblical principles.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and is willing to continue to develop as a leader.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Possesses creativity and flexibility to adapt in challenging situations and perform under pressure.
- Comfortable with recruiting and training of serving team members
- Commits to being a disciple-maker. Connections Ministry is a great “stepping stone” serving area…is willing to release people into other ministries as needed.
- Possesses a shepherd’s heart and has clearly demonstrated this through past actions.
- Pleasant personality and proven ability to interact in a positive manner using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, flexibility and courtesy in gesture and speech.
- Willingness to shepherd serving team leaders as valued team members. Must also have a heart to put “people over process” and pause your “to do” list on a Sunday morning to connect with volunteers and/or church members that might be struggling emotionally.
- Is a a clear and consistent communicator. Must be willing to follow up on emails, calls and texts in a timely manner.
- Understands ministry is not a “9 to 5 job” and is willing to dedicate a minimum of two nights per week to ministry related activities. Night demands are balanced with flexibility that is present with the position to promote a healthy work/life balance.
- Actively lives out and models for the church a strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Crossroads.
- Agrees fully with the Converge Affirmation of Faith and Crossroads Community Church Statement of Faith.

Believes in and has submitted to Believer’s baptism following their commitment to Christ.

Comfortable and willing to lovingly challenge leaders, serving team members, or church members as needed when issues arise as well as admitting their own mistakes.

Commits to resolve conflict via Biblical guidelines spelled out in Matthew.

Regardless of areas of giftedness, must still have a heart for outreach.

Basic software skills are required. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Prior vocational ministry experience and education is not required. However, any candidate must demonstrate how they have been actively involved in the ministries of their local church and speak to why they believe it has prepared them for this role.

Previous work experience utilizing writing business copy, customer service, event planning and/or project management a plus.
Relationships and Contacts:
- Reports to the Staff Pastor.
- Works closely with Connections Ministry Leaders.
- Works closely with other staff members.
- Oversees Connections Ministry Coordinator.
- Reports out to the Senior Pastor and Elder Team as requested.
- Works with outside contacts to continually examine and improve the effectiveness of Connections Ministry.
Time Commitment:
Part time position of 20 base hours per week. Hours will be a combination of office hours, weekend, and evening hours. Nights and weekend hours are driven by needs of the ministry. Given the importance of providing oversight to our Connections Ministry team on Sunday, it is expected you will be present Sunday mornings from 7am to 1pm with the ability to be absent 8 Sundays during a calendar year.
