  • PURPOSE

We are passionate about investing in leaders! We don’t take lightly the responsibility to ensure Crossroads is used by God for generations to come. To do this, we must be intentionally investing in people who will be leaders in the future. We offer a variety of internships that allow people to explore if God might be calling them to work in vocational ministry.

  • ____________________________________

  • WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for people who have a burden in their heart to make their life count for something. We value servant leadership as modeled by Jesus who "...did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 We believe we can do ordinary things extraordinarily well as we help people connect with God and others at the crossroads in their lives. If you are faithful, humble, and teachable we believe we can give you an amazing internship experience that will help you discern if a life dedicated to serving in vocational ministry is a calling you should be saying "yes" to.

  • ____________________________________

  • EXPERIENCES

While we know our internships will allow you to experience and learn some amazing things, our primary goal is to develop YOU as a person! Depending on what team you join, you will be fully-immersed in the day-to-day ministry of Crossroads. You will join meetings, plan events, write compelling communications, develop speaking skills and grow in emotional intelligence and relationship building. We also take time out of our busy schedules for team building and fun shenanigans from time-to-time!

Tony

Tony Dekker

Tony was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and went to school at Oostburg High where he participated in soccer, wrestling, and track. He loves any sport there is and likes to be outdoors. Tony lives with his mom, dad, older brother Carson and younger sister Josie.

If you had to move out of this country, what country would you move to? Why?

Chile, They have the Patagonia mountain range which is pretty cool and its on the ocean so they probably have good fishing there too.

What is one thing about you that people would find surprising?

I have never watched a Star Wars or Marvel movie.

If you could live in any period of history, when would it be?

Meeting Jesus would be pretty cool, but other than that time period I would live in the late 1800's. I like history a lot and I think that the cowboy era is kind of cool so I would have to say then.

Besides the Bible, what book has changed you the most?

I'd say the book we went through in lifegroup this last lifegroup season really has transformed the way I go about my Christian walk. "The Christian Atheist" by Craig Groeschel. It has really challenged me to live a life worthy of the calling. It's challenged me to live out what I learn from the word of God. It's challenged our tithing. It's challenged my Gospel sharing. It's made me want to really make the most of every opportunity I get to share with someone about Jesus.

What do you like to do for fun?

Hangout with my wife and daughter, spend time with friends, Go mini golfing, playing chess, My wife and I love the tv show "The Office". We've watched it over 10 times all the way through.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A rapper. LOL. I made a lot of music when I was in high school and even for a few years out of high school. It was great. My brother made the beats and I recorded my vocals over them. We were probably terrible but it was fun.

Cora Baumann

RUSH Student Intern - Programming

Sheboygan Campus

Meet Cora

Cora was born in Sheboygan, WI, and is homeschooled, along with her six siblings. She lives with her Mom and Dad, older brother Logan, younger sisters Ava, Sophia, Elayna, and younger brothers Wilson and Augie...and two crazy Labrador dogs. She love reading, drawing, and playing the piano, along with a healthy amount of candy-consuming.

Is there a story behind your name? What is it?

If I remember correctly, one of my great-great aunts was named Cora, and my mom liked that name. (I have a black and white photo of her.) But I am not for sure if that's why they chose the name, or if they just liked it.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an artist! And I still want to do something with Art, either Illustration or Fashion Design.

What scares you the most?

I used to be terrified of wolves. Now? Probably being in a busy situation and not knowing what I'm supposed to be doing!

James Danhoff

RUSH Student Intern - General Support

Sheboygan Campus

Meet James

James was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where he has lived all his life. He attended Lake Country Academy through 8th grade and is currently a Junior at Sheboygan Christian High School. He lives with his parents Andrew and Jenny, his siblings Charlotte and Henry, and his three pets Kyle, Harper, and Gus.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was really little, I had always wanted to be a construction worker. I thought the big machines were so cool. However, I ditched the idea one day when my mom said that sometimes construction workers can get hurt on the job. I wasn't about to take that risk.

What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?

Relationships, and really anything in life, are like placing your money in an account or working out at the gym—what you get out of them depends on what you put in them. Invest well.

What was your nickname growing up, or now?

For about 2 years now, many of my closest friends have been calling me Judd. It's really random and weird, but it doesn't have a crazy origin story. One day one of my friends just asked if he could call me "Judd." I said sure, not thinking it would actually catch on. But it's been a couple years, and the nickname has just stuck.

Live like an ambassador of God. Be so in love with God that people see him when they look at you.

Are you a morning or night person?

I am a little bit of both which usually results in me being very sleep deprived. :)

What is one thing about you that people would find surprising?

I love Percy Jackson and Greek Mythology.

OTHER MINISTRY INTERNS

Claire Anderson

Front Desk Intern

Sheboygan Campus

HIRED

Meet Claire

Claire was born in Carmel, Indiana. She moved to Monument, Colorado and was raised there. She went to high school and college there. She is the third born of triplets and loves her family and friends deeply.

How did you first come to Crossroads?

We met a server at a local restaurant who got my family and I connected to Crossroads.

My biggest pet peeve is...

When people aren’t genuine. Like they’re fake and act like they care but deep down they don’t.

What do you like to do for fun?

Hiking, biking, photography, skiing, playing violin, ukulele, rock climbing, swing dancing, etc.

Katie Anderson

Worship & Tech Intern

Sheboygan Campus

Meet Katie

Katie was born in Indianapolis, IN, and spent much of her life growing up in Colorado and Wisconsin. She attended Liberty University, majoring in English and Writing with a minor in Business Administration. She lives with her parents, Barb and Todd as well as the other 2/3 of her triplets siblings, Claire and Noah.

What is one of the things on your bucket list?

I’ve honestly stopped having a bucket list, thanks to Heaven, since I know that everything will be perfect there. But if I had to list one, I’d say become a published author.

What's the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?

“You are farther along than you think.” I get so stuck in this false idea that I “need” to be somewhere or achieve a certain level of success to be considered mature. Having my dad speak this over me has helped me realize that the mythical level of success isn’t worth stressing about. God has me exactly where He wants, and it is comforting to know that He has a plan for my life.

What is one thing about you that people would find surprising?

Though I may come off as introspective and quiet, I do have a loud side that people are usually surprised to find out.

Marketing & LifeGroups Intern

Sheboygan Campus

Is there a story behind your name? What is it?

Caris in Greek means grace. The reason why this is important is because after my parents had my older brother, they didn’t think that they would have another child, so when God blessed them with another child, they named me Caris because of the grace that God had on them when He blessed them with another child.

What is one of the things on your bucket list?

I would want to go skydiving one day. I think that would be really cool to say that I did at one time in my life.

What scares you the most?

I am terrified of snakes. It does not matter how big or small, or if they are poisonous or not, I will not even go anywhere near a snake.
