CROSSROADS INTERNSHIPS 1920x692
  • PURPOSE

We are passionate about investing in leaders! We don’t take lightly the responsibility to ensure Crossroads is used by God for generations to come. To do this, we must be intentionally investing in people who will be leaders in the future. We offer a variety of internships that allow people to explore if God might be calling them to work in vocational ministry.

  • ____________________________________

  • WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for people who have a burden in their heart to make their life count for something. We value servant leadership as modeled by Jesus who "...did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 We believe we can do ordinary things extraordinary well as we help people connect with God and others at the crossroads in their lives. If you are faithful, humble, and teachable we believe we can give you an amazing internship experience that will help you discern if a life serving in vocational ministry is a calling you should say "yes" to.

Cam

How did you first come to Crossroads?

My mom and dad felt the Lord calling them to plant Crossroads, so I didn’t really have a choice! But I couldn’t be more thankful that my parents wanted their lives to count, so they were obedience to Christ. I am so grateful that God has had me at Crossroads since day 1, I wouldn’t change a thing!

What is one of the things on your bucket list?

I would LOVE to be able to attend the Final Four and National Championship!

What do you like to do for fun?

Jess

Jess Jimenez

RUSH Pastoral Intern

Is there a story behind your name? What is it?

My name is Jesus, great responsibility and representation (In Mexico we say: The penance is in the name). In Mexico it is very normal for people to be called that, my father is called the same. For me it is a very important name that I do not take lightly. To be honest, I do not believe myself worthy of carrying it for our Lord Jesus, that is why my name was transformed into Jess when one of the influential people in my life told me that the name Jesus is better and goes more with my personality so I adopted it as my name.

What is one thing about you that people would find surprising?

I played professional soccer and was on a racing car team.

What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?

Your life will be marked by your consistency and your disposition.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love playing sports with friends. Golf is my favorite, but volleyball, baseball, and basketball are also always fun.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I started going to college to become a sports broadcaster. Plans changed when I met my wife and realized that I wanted to be home with my family rather than traveling and working a lot of nights.

Besides the Bible, what book has changed you the most?

The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer has had a profound impact on me in this crazy world. It has given me a better perspective on needing to slow down and walk in step with the Jesus.

Lizzy

Lizzy Hockenhull

Marketing Intern

Sheboygan & Manitowoc Campus

Meet Lizzy

Lizzy was born and raised in Howards Grove, Wisconsin and is currently finishing up her junior year at Lakeland University where she is studying marketing and business administration with a passion for digital media. She enjoys traveling, hiking, or doing anything else outdoors, and she especially loves doing these things with her wonderful family and friends!

Is there a story behind your name? What is it?

My mom chose the name Elizabeth for me because it is known as a feminine variation of the Hebrew name “Elisheva” which means, "God is my oath" or "God's promise". She always wanted a big family and after struggling with infertility for a long period in her life, it just seemed fitting!

What childish thing do you still do as an adult?

My diet pretty much consists of chicken tenders, burgers, mac and cheese, cheese pizza, and goldfish. I am still a very picky eater!

How did you first come to Crossroads?

In high school I was at a pretty low place in my life and got invited to RUSH by my best friend; although my attendance was spotty due to me still pursuing my own fleshly desires, I eventually came to a breaking point and my best friend was right there encouraging me to join her at church. After this invite I started attending more consistently, turned my life around, got involved in as many ministries as I could, and have not looked back since. It was a life changer for me!

What is one thing about you that people would find surprising?

I have twin brothers who are two years older than me and although I am not a triplet, I still share a birthday with them! I was born on their second birthday. It's a party in the Hockenhull household!
